Exodus 3:7, 8

          The Lord’s tender dealings with the children of Israel as they languished in Egyptian bondage for over 400 years, reminds me that we shall get through this, all of this that we are presently facing in Jesus’ Name. I could imagine how many times, many of them came to the brink of despair, especially just before deliverance came. The many nights they felt like if it just couldn’t get any worse. The many days they wondered how long. Would this grief ever pass? Would things ever change?  Would this present tragedy of our present existence ever be exchanged for the life that we know we should be living? Would relief and release ever come? As they were traumatized by slavery and the misery of their desperate circumstances one more day, the answer finally came.

            For those of you who are experiencing the most harrowing and difficult circumstances of your life right now, we just wanted to use this passage to encourage you just a bit today. Please know that “ . . . weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning” (Psalm 30:5). In fact the verse states, “For His anger last only a moment but his favor lasts for a lifetime . . .” (Psalm 50:5). It may seem intractable, irreversible, and insurmountable. You may think there is no way out but hang on in there! The inescapable truth is, help is on its way. Now is no time to give up or give in. Crossing 2021 is indeed a sign that you are going to make it. Things will get better. Your deliverance is scheduled and planned. You are on God’s agenda. You are on his radar. Your time is now, in this season of 2021. Your circumstances are not in charge – God is! Thank God, according to the divine script, there is a divine limit placed on evil. Troubles don’t last always!

            Notice what he said to Moses as he gets ready to orchestrate His children’s exodus from the land of their humiliation and entrapment. The passage reads “The Lord said, “I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt, I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. So, I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land unto a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey . . .” (Exodus 3:7,8 NIV. How comforting the thought coming straight from the throne room of heaven – “I have seen . . ., I have heard, and I am concerned.”

            It is worth repeating – our God sees, He hears, and He is concerned. We can rest assured that our situations, pain, trouble, and trauma, move Him. He sees! He hears! He knows! It’s only a matter of time until supernatural deliverance and breakthrough are coming your way. Verse 8 reinforces the powerful message of divine intervention and supernatural interference on our behalf. It states, “And so I have come down to rescue them . . . and to bring them up out of that land into . . .” (v8). He will rescue us and bring us – up – out of – into. By divine design, our deliverance can and will no longer be delayed or denied. It is decreed, and irreversibly so, that we are coming up – out of – into a better place this year than we have ever been. Finally, deliverance has come! The answer finally came!

          In collaboration with our District Overseers, the Church of God of Prophecy submits to the wisdom of continuing to ‘Shelter in Place’ for the safety and protection of the flock. This is to be observed until further notice and the present virus is better contained. Should the need arise to meet, we are advised to meet in groups of no more than 10, while we strictly observe the protocols of social distancing, wearing of masks and aggressive sanitizing of our hands and surfaces frequently touched.

          Please let us patiently observe these practices to keep each other safe and alive. We are reminded that we are indeed our brother’s keeper. Stay home! Stay Healthy! Stay Hopeful! We shall soon get through this! Premature re-openings of our churches seem not to be the wisest way to go at this point. Let us continue to pray, caring for each other and staying connected.
