MATTHEW 26:46
As I prayerfully approached 2026, I just wanted to share with you some things, I believe, the good Lord downloaded into my spirit, as we move ever so closely to His imminent return. First, I couldn’t help but look back and consider again how quickly 2025 passed by. More and more, it really seems as if the days are being shortened. Before we can wink, another year seems to be here. However, as we look back, in spite of all the challenges, we can really stand and testify about God’s amazing goodness to us in the land of the living.
One thing the good Lord said again to me, as we face the unknown of another year, was “Fear Not.” In many areas, according to biblical prophecy, things will get progressively worse, but from those same scriptures, we are compelled to perceive that “the best is yet to come.” Jesus unequivocally iterated “And when these things begin to come to pass, look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh” (Luke 21:28). Things will get so dramatic and drastic preceding the second coming of the Lord, that Jesus Himself prophesied “Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things that are coming upon the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken” (Luke 21:26).
Despite all the stress and distress of the last days’ phenomena, we are commanded to “Fear not” and not be terrified by all the swift transitions that must come to pass in the last days. For every day going forward in 2026, the unchanging command to the church remains the same: “Fear not – Do not be afraid.” Jesus fearlessly said, “Rise, let us be going…” (Matthew 26:46). Even though the next phase of the journey was going to be unusually difficult, Jesus still said, “Rise, let us go”. We go full speed ahead into 2026. The God of 2025 purposefully journeys with us. Therefore, we choose not to be overwhelmed by fear.
The Master also graciously reminded me, as we move into 2026 – to pray more and worry less. As human beings, we seem to be so skilled at worrying and fretting, especially over things about which we have no control. How true are the lyrics?
“O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer.”
We waste so many sleepless nights turning and tossing in bed. We turn grey and often become so sick, worrying needlessly over material things and situations that remain unyielding without divine intervention. It’s about time we start doing like Jesus says – Stop worrying! His simple command was “Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? “(Matthew 6:25). This year, we are determined to pray more and worry less. We are resolved to remain in prayer-formation!
I trust 2026 shall be amazing, God-filled, prayer-filled, awe-inspiring, and miraculous! May every God-given dream be realized. May we come to the end of 2026 like we did 2025, still standing in victory, eagerly awaiting His return! We resolutely do as the Master says – Rise, let us go! Happy New Year!
